In June of 2002, Jasmine shared the stage with Oldies Greats, The Platters, who had flown from Las Vegas for the concerts. Jasmine and her back-up dancers opened for The Platters at the Williamsport Scottish Rite Auditorium and also at the Gratz Fairgrounds for Musikfest. JUNE 17 POTTSVILLE REPUBLICAN: Harold Lenker said "We like the older music where you can hear all the words, and that Jasmine, she's good", he said, referring to Nashville Recording Artist, Jasmine T. Morgan, 16, of Valley View. At Musikfest, Jenny Owen Youngs, Jasmine's cousin from Newton, NJ, also performed original songs and accompanied herself on guitar. Jasmine's summer started out with a bang on July 6, when she performed at the Carlisle Summerfest(at the Carlisle Fairgrounds) with her live band and back-up dancers. After her finale of "God Bless the USA", fireworks in the sky blazed a pyrotechnical salute. She also performed with her band at the York County Concert Series at John Rudy Park, and at the Marysville Lions Club Carnival. At the beginning of August, Jasmine opened for Ty Herndon at the Schuylkill County Fair. THE POTTSVILLE REPUBLICAN & EVENING HERALD: "Before Herndon's show, 16-year old vocalist, Jasmine Morgan, Valley View, warmed up the audience. 'She was excellent' said Claire N. Scheffler, New Ringold. 'I've read so much about her, she's an upcoming LeAnn Rimes.' " OFFICIAL GUIDEBOOK TO THE SCHUYLKILL COUNTY FAIR: "Local favorite, Jasmine Morgan, will open for another country headliner, Ty Herndon, on Friday, August 2. Jasmine opened for Trick Pony last year at the Schuylkill County Fair and is back by popular demand. Ms. Morgan, a teenager from the Valley View Area, is wowing audiences with her excellent vocals." Jasmine was fortunate enough to meet country music icon, Kenny Rogers, as well as the ever popular country singers Chely Wright and Jamie O'Neal. Her photographers Robert Delong and George Shamansky were also in attendance, and you can see some of their memorable shots on this website. Jasmine was extremely well received at Pioneer Day in Ashland, PA, on August 17. THE NEWS-ITEM, Shamokin, PA: "The entertainment began around 11:00 with local country music recording artist, Jasmine Morgan. The popularity of the 16-year-old from Valley View has been growing with her tremendous voice and entertainment style. The honor student at Tri-Valley High School has released two CDS - "Life in the Country" and "Crossover" - and has completed work on a third. To begin the first of her two performances, Morgan sang the national anthem. Her emotional presentation put a halt to all activity, as people stopped and listened. Morgan then went into her show to the delight of the audience singing and dancing at times with her three back-up dancers." Jasmine ended her summer performances with two labor day concerts at Wildwood/Cape May NJ. Her entire crew was there, and everyone had a blast, at the shows and on the beach. Jasmine's agent, Fred Clousher, and her lighting technician Charlie, were there, as well as photographers Robert Delong and George Shamansky. soundman, Scott and dresser, Roxanne were also there. It was a fabulous working vacation. Is there anything better than being on the beach and shopping on the Boardwalk? Some of you also spotted Jasmine at the National Apple Harvest Festival at Bigglerville, PA where she performed in the Apple Auditorium on Oct. 6, 2002.
